This started as a prank on my girlfriend.
250 fake restaurants later, here we are.
She loves ordering food. The dopamine hit of picking a dish, watching the cart fill up, hitting "Place order" — that is the good part. The bill, the calories, the delivery boy calling from a wrong lane? Not so much.
So I built a fake order. She saw the confirmation, the little rider on the map, the whole theatre. She laughed. Then we both kept ordering imaginary biryani at 2 AM. Nomato grew out of that inside joke.
South Korea had already proven the idea: there are sites that let you "order" fried chicken that never arrives. People love them because the craving is usually about the ordering, not the eating. Nomato is that idea, rebuilt for Indian food: your city, your street food, your rider stuck behind a cow.
