Why this exists 😈
It started as a prank on my girlfriend. 250 fake kitchens later, here we are.
She loves ordering food. The dopamine hit of picking a dish, watching the cart fill up, hitting "Place order" — that is the good part. The bill, the calories, the delivery boy calling from a wrong lane? Not so much.
So I built a fake order. She saw the confirmation, the little rider on the map, the whole theatre. She laughed. Then we both kept ordering imaginary biryani at 2 AM. Nomato grew out of that inside joke.
Nomato was inspired by the genre of "fake delivery" websites that turn the familiar ritual of ordering food into an entertainment experience. We rebuilt that idea around Indian food, cities and culture: your city, your street food, your rider stuck behind a cow.
